Beauty starts from the inside – 5 Ways To Spring Clean Your Body

September 1, 2017

Spring is here! A time of renewal and growth and the perfect time to spring clean our bodies.  Here are 5 tips, to get you in tip-top condition:

1) Start your spring clean with a detox

The purpose of any detox plan is to ease the load off the organs that detoxify the body (the liver, kidneys and bowel) to support and improve their performance. It doesn’t have to be a week-long drastic detox. You can detox for a couple of days following these safe and do-able rules:

Foods to avoid:
Milk products
Sugar, honey, maple syrup, artificial sweeteners
Grains: wheat (bread, biscuits, cakes, pasta), rye, barley, oats, spelt and rice
Dried fruit

Foods to enjoy
Fruit: any fresh fruit
Vegetables: any fresh vegetables
Fish: fresh, canned in water or olive oil
Lean red meat, chicken (without the skin). Limit to two serves per week.
Legumes: dried or canned, such as kidney beans, chickpeas, lentils
Eggs: preferably organic
Olive oil (preferably extra virgin), Coconut oil (unprocessed)
Nuts: raw unsalted almonds, walnuts, macadamias and cashews
Seeds: raw unsalted sesame, pumpkin and sunflower seeds
Green tea, white tea, weak black tea (decaffeinated)

2) Supplement with vitamin and minerals

Pamella and Natasha – creators of Miss Vitality, believe the secret to vitality and a healthy complexion begins on a cellular level. With stress and environment playing a major part in skin and body toxicity, anti-oxidants are the key to delivering protection against the effects of ageing on a cellular level. Here’s a run-down of the ‘must have supplements’ in the Miss Vitality range:

3) Stay hydrated

Your levels of hydration plays a HUGE role in your health. Water helps dissolve minerals and nutrients so that they are more accessible to the body, as well as helping transport waste products out of the body. It is these two functions that make water so vital to the kidneys. Aim to drink between one to three litres of water per day.

You don’t have to just drink water, try healthy freshly squeezed juices, lemon in water or teas. The Miss Vitality Clean Tea is a great option. It’s packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Herbal teas are a natural way to get off to a healthy start. Not only does it offer a healthy alternative to regular tea and coffee, it can assist with everything from detoxifying your system to boosting your energy – promoting anti-ageing through Rosehips high vitamin C content.

4) Exercise regularly

This is an obvious one, but you need to aim to exercise at least 3 times a week for 30 minutes. Ideally work up a sweat to ensure you’ve got your heart race up.

5) Be aware of your stress levels, and reduce it!

Stress is known to bring on all sorts of ailments. Sometimes we can go-on our daily tasks unaware that we are in a stressful state. Be aware of your stress levels and adopt habits to reduce stress. Options include, mediation, deep breathing exercises, drink calming teas such as chamomile, think positively and keep calm.
