Fill Me In On Lip EnhancementsFebruary 2, 2015
I’m sure many of you have been exposed to lip enhancements which look blindingly unnatural, and we’ve got celebrities like Sophie Monk, Nicole Kidman and Lindsay Lohan who don’t exercise restraint when it comes to this procedure.
Lip enhancements, lip augmentation, lip fillers – whatever you want to call it, were originally developed to add shape and volume to the lips. Like any procedure, lip enhancements can be ‘done well’ and especially in the case of Rejuvenation Clinics of Australia, we always assess the patient’s lips and face to create a look that will compliment your features, as opposed to opting for those bulbous lips which don’t look natural.
One patient who recently had her lip enhancement treatment done by us is Marianne. She’s kindly documented her experience with us:
1. What concerns did you have about your lips before getting lip enhancements?
I had two concerns about my lips before getting them done. Firstly, I thought I had small lips and every time I smiled in photos, my lips seemed to have disappeared. The other reason was that I wanted to enhance the shape of my mouth so I could achieve a ‘pouty’ look.
2. Were these concerns sorted out during the consultation?
The first concern was sorted out quickly and Neda talked me through some options and products available at Rejuvenation Clinics of Australia. I was amazed at the wide variety of lip filler products on offer. With the second concern, I discovered not much could be done with the shape of my mouth. However, the lip enhancers would ensure I had a ‘pouty’ look.
3. So, what exactly happened at the consultation?
Neda informed me of the risks and warnings of using lip enhancers such as swelling and bruising. Prior to coming to Rejuvenation Clinics of Australia, I had no idea about the various lip enhancer products currently available on the market. Due to my lack of knowledge in this area, I was grateful Neda took the time to explain the products to me, which aided in my decision-making.
Once I made my decision, the numbing cream was placed on my lips. I squirmed at the sight of the needle and was worried that it would hurt. Surprisingly, the actual procedure didn’t hurt too much and it was just an unusual sensation. My lips still felt numb after the procedure, but I could see the results immediately and I liked it!
The next day, I came back to Rejuvenation Clinics of Australia to receive a lip massage. The aim of this was to spread the product evenly around the lips. It was painful but short.
4. After the lip enhancements were done, did you feel any pain?
After getting my lips enhanced, there was little swelling the next day. I did have some bruising on my lips, but it wasn’t noticeable. My lips were a bit sore, but not painful. I received the procedure on a Monday evening, and no down-time was needed. I was fine to go to work the next day.
5. Lucky last, would you get them done again at ‘Rejuvenation Clinics of Australia’?
Yes, I’m very pleased with the results and I loved how the staff were patient in taking the time to understand my concerns and explaining the process of the procedure. I love my new lips and I now have a large collection of lipsticks!
Now, cue the drum roll:
