Now is the BEST time to start your SKIN REJUVENATION treatments!

May 2, 2017

There’s a bright side to the colder, gloomier days ahead as we enter the cooler months! Now is the BEST time to start your SKIN REJUVENATION treatments.

As much as we love the Summer and the glowing tans it brings us, exposure to the sun can prevent us from benefiting from skin rejuvenation treatments. Laser light used in skin rejuvenation is attracted to dark pigmentation (colour) in the skin, so if there is any pigment in your skin caused by tanning or fake tanning lotions you run the risk of many side effects, such as blistering and skin discoloration after treatment.

Many skin rejuvenating treatments also sensitise the skin temporarily which can increase skin sensitivity to the sun resulting in amplified risk of sunburn, freckles and other effects of unprotected sun exposure. This is why the colder months are IDEAL for skin rejuvenation, as we cover up our bodies and are rarely exposed to UV light!

Skin rejuvenation treatments to start NOW are:

Deep Rejuvenation Laser Toning

Deep Rejuvenation Laser Toning is an innovative NdYag laser treatment used to perform non-invasive skin rejuvenation procedures to improve redness, pores and pigment. It is unique in that it’s a micro short pulse laser that works on both the surface and deeper dermal layer of the skin and yet has no pain or downtime.

Deep Rejuvenation Laser Toning can help restore a healthy complexion by reducing redness and brown discoloration, smoothing out uneven textures caused by ageing, sun damage and through the reduction of large pores and minor imperfections.

How does it work?
It delivers repeated high energy microsecond high-peak-power pulses to the skin, targeting and heating multiple layers of the dermis and epidermis. By gently heating the upper dermis well below your skin’s surface, Deep Rejuvenation Laser Toning stimulates collagen growth to reduce the appearance of pores and textural imperfections. Heat is also generated in dilated capillaries to reduce redness.

What skin conditions does it work best on?

  • Fine-lines
  • Redness and Rosacea
  • All scars from fresh surgical scars to keloid and hypertrophic scars
  • Large pores
  • Uneven texture
  • General pigmentation
  • Also general redness on the décolletage

What to expect?
You can expect to see subtle yet consistent results after each treatment. We always recommend a package of at least 6 treatments to produce a realistic improvement in all of the conditions it treats.

This is a very gentle laser treatment that specifically targets deeper tissues in the skin causing a gradual reduction in redness and pigment and a steady improvement in pore size.

How long do the results last?
The results will depend on your skin condition and the number of treatments completed

Surface Rejuvenation Laser Toning

Surface Rejuvenation Laser Toning is a complexion toning laser that improves the quality and texture of skin such as improving fine lines, pigmentation, enlarged pores, blocked pores, surface acne scarring, mild redness and discolouration.

What does it treat?
Reduction of fine lines, enlarged and blocked pores, mild redness, pigmentation and acne scarring.

How does it work?
Surface Rejuvenation Laser Toning works by gently heating the deeper layers of the skin using a very short delivery method to shatter pigment, stimulate collagen production and skin refinement without any downtime.

How is it different to Deep Rejuvenation Laser Toning?
Deep Rejuvenation Laser Toning is also working in the deeper layers of the skin but using a different delivery method. It keeps the heat in the skin for a longer period of time which will assist with significant redness reduction, rosacea, superficial and deep pore reduction, oil congestion, acne scarring and skin tightening.

Who is this good for and why?
All skin types, anyone who has pigmentation, enlarged pores, blocked pores, dull skin, mild redness or wanting to step-up from their regular peels & facial treatments.
Price starts from $200

Results to expect:
Over time with a series of treatments, you will start to notice a reduction in pigment in the skin, decongest pores and reduce pore size, clearer, brighter and a more even complexion.

IPL (M22)

IPL is an Intense Pulse Light source which is attracted to multiple different chromophores in the skin including pigmentation and blood vessels. IPL, unlike laser, also uses a multiple different wavelengths or penetration depths which allows to treat multiple concerns in the one treatment.

Results to expect?
Patients can expect to see the darkening of pigment directly after the treatment, which can last several day’s post treatment. The darkening of the pigment will then naturally be exfoliated off over the next 2-4 weeks. Redness can also be experienced post treatment and can remain from 30 minutes – a couple of hours.

How does it work?
IPL systems work on the same principles as lasers in that light energy is absorbed into particular target cells with colour (chromophores) in the skin. The light energy is converted to heat energy, which causes damage to the specific target area. The body’s natural skin repair mechanism then process the damage and is naturally removed from the skin.

How is it different to Deep Rejuvenation Laser Toning?
IPL and Deep Rejuvenation lasers are different. IPL is an Intense Pulse Light that treats using a full spectrum of light and different penetration depths and is targeted to multiple chromophores. Whilst the Deep Rejuvenation laser uses one specific wavelength of light to target only one chromophore.

What does it treat
Pigmentation (Sun-damage including Solar Lentigos and Lentiginies) and Diffused Redness/ Small Blood Vessels. (The treatment can also stimulate collagen; however we have other targeted alternatives for age concerns)

Who is this good for and why
The M22 IPL is ideal for patients who have a lighter skin complextion and is looking for a multitasking treatment to reduce visible signs of redness and pigmentation

Fraxel Laser

Fraxel is an incredible laser treatment that helps you to remove years of damage from your appearance. Fraxel uses a technique called “fractional photothermolysis”, a technology in which thousands of tiny laser columns treat a fraction of the skin without affecting the surrounding tissue. These laser columns stimulate the production of younger, smoother, healthier skin to replace damaged tissue.

How does it work?
The Fraxel laser creates tiny channels deep into the skin which the skin repairs by pushing out the old sun damaged skin and replacing it with new skin. Each treatment replaces about 15-20% of the sun damaged, scarred or wrinkled skin.

How long does it take?
The treatment is performed between 20-30 minutes. 1 hour prior to the appointment we will apply a topical anaesthetic to the face. We also administer cool air to the skin 20 minutes after the treatment is performed. The treatment takes about 2 hours in total.

What are the results and how long does it take for results to show?
Smoother, fresher, younger-looking looking skin, improved tone and texture, reducing unwanted brown spots, reduced fine lines around the eyes.

What are the comparative advantages of this treatment as opposed to other options out there?
Traditionally, two kinds of laser treatment have been available for cosmetic skin treatment: ablative and non-ablative. Typical ablative treatments, which use a high temperature to vaporise unwanted tissue, can be effective—but with significant side effects and several weeks of recovery time. Non-ablative treatments, meanwhile, have very few side effects and low downtime, but they commonly require numerous treatments to produce more modest results. Fraxel laser treatment delivers the potency of ablative treatments with the gentle safety of non-ablative lasers. So you get the best of both worlds: dramatic results and less downtime.
