What are Growth Factor Injections?

Growth factors are naturally occurring substances capable of stimulating cellular growth.

By extracting a sample of your own blood and running it through a centrifuge we can concentrate growth factors into a formula to be injected back in to the treatment area to improve, stimulate and strengthen skin to achieve anti-ageing benefits.

What are the anti-ageing benefits?

  1. Thickening, strengthening and volumising indented and damaged skin from acne scarring – usually the mid cheek area, especially where there has been a loss of volume.
  2. Thickening, strengthening and tightening loose, fine skin on many areas of the face or body. Most commonly the fine cheek smile creases (accordion lines), fine creased eyelid skin and the fine skin on the neck.
  3. Improving texture, pores and surface complexion. It also enhances the cosmetic surface complexion.

How are growth factors extracted & inserted?

The most readily available form of growth factors are obtained directly from your own blood. We extract the blood, run it through a centrifuge and inject the product directly into the subcutaneous layer of skin.

The process of extraction, harvesting and application make a huge difference to the efficacy of the treatment. We have the latest harvesting system together with experienced injectors and a specialised injection handpiece for best results.

How are growth factors produced?

The most common methods for producing growth factors to inject into our skin are either to derive them from our own blood or from our fat.

What happens during the treatment?

Numbing cream is applied 20 minutes prior to treatment and left on for 5-10 minutes maximum. The skin is then cleansed and using the injecting devise, the product is injected at a consistent depth (max 1mm).

How long does the treatment take?

This depends on the area treated however the process takes 20 minutes to do a full face.

Is there any downtime?

Temporary redness and possibility of minimal bruising. The use of non-cross linked hyaluronic acid does not cause swelling.

Is there any aftercare?

No, as always we advise careful use of sunscreen and prescribe vitamin A, B, C and pigment inhibiting serum, which we always recommend.

How will my results progress overtime?

This treatment requires an Initial 3 sessions at 3 week intervals then one session every 4 to 6 months to maintain results.
