FAQ's

What is a PRP injection?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is derived from a sample of your own blood and injected into the dermal tissue of your face, neck, décolletage and hands. PRP is rich in natural growth factors that activate the multiplication of your collagen-producing cells to achieve anti-ageing benefits, skin repair and improved complexion.

What is PRP Plus?

PRP Plus is a combination PRP and our Glow Factor Injection, which contains vitamins, antioxidants and micro amounts of dermal fillers to gently plump your skin while it enhances the overall health and appearance of your complexion.

By combining PRP with the Glow Factor Injection, we give your skin an extra boost to make the treatments even more effective.

What are the anti-ageing benefits?

Thickening, strengthening and tightening of loose, fine skin on many areas of the face or body. Most commonly the fine cheek smile creases (accordion lines), fine creased eyelid skin and the thinner skin on the neck.

There are also some thickening, strengthening and volumising benefits, particularly on indented and skin that has been damaged from acne scarring – usually the mid cheek area, especially where there has been a loss of volume.

By improving texture, pores and surface complexion, PRP also enhances the cosmetic surface complexion.

How is PRP extracted and inserted?

The most readily available form of PRP is obtained directly from your own blood. We take samples of your blood, using the same method as if you were doing a blood test at the doctors. Then we use advanced centrifuge technology to extract the PRP, and inject it directly into the subcutaneous layer of your skin.

What happens during the treatment?

We take a sample of your blood and use highly advanced equipment to extract the PRP from the sample. Then, numbing cream is applied to the area being treated and left on for 5-10 minutes. After this, the skin is cleansed and, using the injecting device, the PRP is injected at a consistent depth (maximum 1mm).

How long does the treatment take?

It depends on the size of the area being treated. Including numbing, extraction and injection time, it normally takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour for the full face.

Is there any downtime?

We recommend 24 hours of downtime following treatment. There will be some redness and possibly mild bruising, which is normal and subsides quickly.

Is there any aftercare?

There is no aftercare, however, we recommend that you take extra precaution with the sun for a few days after treatment.

Will I need more than one treatment?

We recommend 3 treatments, 4 weeks apart to achieve the best results.

How will my results progress over time?

The growth factors repair the collagen and elastin fibres in your skin, so it can take a few weeks after your treatment course to show results. You should notice restored volume, elasticity and an improved, healthier appearance in your skin.
